Job description

Our Pine Valley campus is seeking a driver (non cdl) who is organized and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment. This team member will schedule, coordinate, track resident transportation requests and drive our residents. This position also provides back-up assistance to our EVS (Environmental Services) department.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Weekends and Evenings as needed
Essential Job Functions
- Schedules all resident medical appointments per Nursing or Doctor request.
- Coordinates transportation for the resident's medical appointments utilizing available transportation.
- Contacts and schedules the Lutheran Life Villages Approved Staff Drivers to drive for medical appointments on the weekends and evenings
- Tracks and arranges all Medicaid transportation per outside services, including Southeast Transportation.
- Schedules both the ambulatory and wheelchair van and/or bus for all Lutheran Life Villages Pine Valley transportation needs including private pay transports or resident personal transports as approved and needed; will assist Lutheran Life Villages and Independent Living transportation needs as needed and/or requested.
- Drives ambulatory/wheelchair van and bus as needed to meet Lutheran Life Villages transportation needs. Will maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Tracks and follows-up on appointments scheduled.
- Responsible for scheduling and communicating the needs of the general upkeep of van/bus and maintenance. Ensures cleanliness of the van/bus with periodic washing, inside vacuuming and cleaning. Complies with manufacturer guidelines when using lift equipment. Also assures correct amount of gasoline is always in the gas tanks.
- Performs errands for other departments when need arises and time permits, specifically for Environmental Services when not completing transports.
- Will ensure Driver(s) are registered with facility insurance. Will assist with addition of new drivers on occurrence.
Job Qualifications

- High School education
- Experience
- Prefer a minimum of 3 years experience in scheduling and driving for medical appointments who live in a health care facility
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate in English
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Must possess a valid Indiana Chauffeurs driver's license and maintain a safe driving record
- Prior scheduling or related experience preferred
