Direct Support Person for youth in a Female Group Center (DSP)
We are looking to hire a direct support person to work with behavioral females between the ages of 12 and 18 living in a group center. The youth in this home often have had extensive trauma. They require a DSP staff who can hold them accountable, give consequences for unacceptable behaviors and have excellent boundaries. Staff must have patience, thick skin, be equipped to deal with behavioral issues and maintain the home. The DSP staff are responsible for developing relationships that are consistent, predictable, positive, accountable and transparent by modeling pro-social behavior, assisting with independent skill development, participating and developing recreational opportunities, consistently implementing program-based strategies and interventions as well as; supervision, security, and safety of the youth at all times in a structured residential setting to include good boundaries.
Part-time hours with weekends required.
One full time position available also. We also have 24 hour shifts where sleeping is permitted.
Employee must have regular attendance/punctuality, be able to cooperate with others, and be completely honest. Other assigned duties include:
Active participation. Participating in all aspects of the Program which includes but is not limited to; eating and preparing meals with the youth, recreating with the youth, talking and engaging in activities with the youth, participating in scheduled and unscheduled therapeutic activities and interventions, attending team meetings, and participating in regular staff discussions to build relationships and share and develop knowledge/information specific to successful strategies to working with our youth.
Providing consistent and timely implementation of program designed strategies and interventions.
Provides coaching with good boundaries to youth who have had trauma and are often behaviorally challenging.
Acting as a positive role model, including manner of dress, use of language, and overall interactions with the youth; modeling appropriate behavior, including not engaging in rumors or gossip about the program or participants.
Facilitating a structured daily routine for the youth by adhering to program goals and guidelines;
Consistently and predictably follow and implement all safety, medication, personnel, and department policies and procedures._
Documenting on a daily basis youth behaviors, attitudes, and program participation in an accurate, complete, and legible manner.
Administering medications and documenting that medications have been administered correctly and at the appropriate times.
Transporting youth to activities and/or appointments as necessary.
Maintaining professional boundaries even when dealing with difficult youth and respect for youth’s confidentiality.

Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must be able to pass CBI and FBI criminal back ground tests
To have a current first aid card and CPR certification and QMAP certification ( or willing to take the classes)
Prior experience and skills with at-risk behavioral youth preferred.
Must be able to motivate youth, set appropriate limits, instill accountability, earn respect and still offer youth positive influence, encouragement, hope, compassion and respect.

Must have initiative, compassion, moral integrity, and reliability.

Must represent the Daisy Center appropriately to the public in word, dress and action.

Must be physically able to complete all job duties.

Physical Requirements

Light to medium duty housekeeping, lifting & loading light to heavy food boxes, standing/cooking, climb second-story staircase.

Job Description: The primary responsibilities of a Direct Supervision Person is to provide safety and around-the-clock supervision of youth in our group center.

Direct Care Workers provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual behavioral/social/physical and educational skill development.

Direct Care Workers provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the youth; monitor and document youth behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.

Different types of hours:
5pm-10:30pm M- Friday
8am-8pm on Sat & Sun
10am-10 on Sat & Sun

12-8 Sat & Sun

Overnight Shift 10pm-8am Sunday- Saturday
We also have coaching program: taking out youth for 2 hours a week and building life skills.

You could combine any option of these Shifts. We are open and at night during the overnight- you are able to do homework wants your responsibilities are done.

Weekend Shifts will start at 18.00 hour

We are desperate for overnight and weekend staff. If you just need a parttime job, we are flexible and in need.
