Job Summary:

The Electrologist is responsible for providing patient care under the direction of a physician or another healthcare provider. The electrologist specializes in the treatment of unwanted hair, assisting patients, and ensuring safe, seamless delivery of care for each patient. The ideal candidate must be professional in their appearance and demeanor, self-motivated, detail orientated, personable, and have excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and provide basic patient monitoring, counseling, and education.
  • Prepares patients for skin assessments and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
  • Fielding calls regarding the Electrolysis Program requirements and overall questions.
  • Ensure that all patients understand, agree to, and sign our Electrolysis Patient Contract.
  • Obtain authorizations for electrolysis and request patient estimates.
  • Cleans and prepares equipment and treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Assists the physician/nurse practitioner during all procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of healthcare experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical office experience in area of specialty.
  • EPIC experience.
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking.
  • Current CMA certification (i.e. AAMA, NCCT).

Conditions of Employment:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross healthcare provider level CPR certification.
  • Complies with applicable University of Colorado School of Medicine, Community Practice mandatory education and training.
  • Maintains all required licensure and certifications for position.
  • Must be able to work in-person.
  • Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of operating the Apilus xCell Pro machine and the 11 modalities, machine accessories, and probes.
  • Comprehension of three techniques of electroepilation—Thermolysis (high frequency current), Electrolysis (galvanic current), and Blend (combined currents).
  • Understanding the hair growth cycle and how it effects treatment.
  • Ability to compile a treatment plan to include a modality, probe type, and frequency of appointment.
  • Comfortability with transgender community.
  • Comfortability with performing electroepilation on a patient’s genital region.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $42,852.24 to $47,258.64.

The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
