About the Role:
The consumer technology team is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our world-class team of technologists. In this role, you will report into the VP of Technology and oversee a group of developers who are responsible for providing a 5-star experience for the customers who interact with our consumer products.
We work in small, cross functional teams and release often. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for ensuring that their team is regularly getting new, improved, secure and scalable features in front of customers as we continue to grow our platform. You will work closely with product managers, designers and engineers to help our teams architect, design and build features that will deliver millions of dollars of revenue.
As an expert in delivering high performance e-commerce experiences, this Engineering Manager will lead development on our websites and mobile apps. The ideal candidate is proficient in React and has some working knowledge of Swift and/or Kotlin. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes to be hands-on with code reviews and is excited to guide their talented and dedicated developers on their professional growth journey.
Please note: qualified candidates must be based in the greater New York City area and must be willing to work in our midtown office a couple days a week.
The base salary range for this role is
$180k–$225k. Salary ranges are determined by competitive market data for our size, stage, and industry, experience and location of the applicant, and our internal salary banding, which is reviewed at least annually.
We aim to be as transparent, equitable, and fair as possible. Qualified candidates and our Talent Acquisition team will discuss salary and benefits in the initial conversation, and final salary will be determined after candidates complete the interview process. We expect that the majority of candidates who are offered roles at TTG fall healthily throughout the range based on the above factors.

What You'll Do:
- Manage and mentor a group of senior engineers, some of whom are managers, to develop and grow within the TodayTix Group environment
- Develop systems to support career growth with the leadership team
- Ensure that the consumer technology backlog is healthy and prioritized and making sure we are building the right things in the right way
- Lead technical design and discovery, ensuring engineers have the business context and working with them engineers to create the right solution to solve user and business problems
- Set a high bar for quality across consumer products, both for the user experience and underlying code, architecture and infrastructure
- Contribute to code-reviews, pairing with engineers to optimize and deliver the right solution across our platform
- Advise and contribute as needed to our consumer technology codebases, pipelines and infrastructure
We're Looking for Someone With:
- 2+ years experience managing engineers at different levels, ideally in a distributed team environment
- A desire to help others grow in their career, from how to write simple, comprehensible, and maintainable code to how to lead and mentor others
- An interest to work for a start-up, ideally someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking someone who is looking to grow personally and wear new hats as we scale
- Expertise building performant web experiences. We build our websites with Typescript, React and Next.js.
- Experience working with teams building 5 star mobile apps (our Android and iOS apps are currently rated 4.9 stars, so there’s room for improvement). We build our native apps in Swift and Kotlin.
- An understanding of Core Web Vitals, SEO best practices and what it takes to win in paid and organic search
- Experience of working in environments that rely on continuous delivery and test automation, ideally using CircleCI
- A passion for user experience, design aesthetics and how these factors help brands win in ecommerce
