We are looking for an Event Manager to join our dynamic Group Sales Team. Our Event Manager is a leader at Marriott Suites Clearwater Beach at Sand Key and enjoys the group sales process including coordinating new and returning group events from top to bottom on hotel property.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Create the on property desired event to meet and exceed clients' needs and expectations
  • Collaborate with other departments such as banquet, culinary, pool operations, and housekeeping to ensure each piece of the event is successfully designed and accomplished
  • Design innovative set-ups, menus, and activities for groups and quickly problem solve developing alternatives when an event issue arises
  • Facilitate pre and post event meetings with group planner and the full hotel team to ensure flawless execution of each event
  • Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of sales techniques including negotiating and closing skills, as well as, upselling
  • Manage audio/visual needs and equipment and operate audio/visual as a profit center
  • Monitor group room blocks and pick up generating detailed resumes for all hotel operating departments
  • Develop relationships with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events/groups
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for our guests following all hotel policies and procedures

This position does require a flexible schedule with responsibilities falling on both first and second shifts, as well as, weekends. Marriott CI/TY and prior hotel event experience is highly desired with a minimum of two years in the hospitality industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
