PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general direction of the Director, Prototyping and Experimentation, provide project and program analysis; strategic messaging development (briefs, papers, studies, and Congressional materials); Congressional action tracking; and administrative assistance requiring the regular use of sound judgment, initiative and independent action. Product must be targeted to different sectors of a wide audience, including DoD senior leaders, Congress, allies and partners, defense industry and the public
- Work on critical USD(R&E) priorities such as the Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve; Hypersonic Steering Group; and foreign prototyping and experimentation efforts
- Coordinate with National Guard partners. Interacts with all levels of the organization and key customers, including political appointees, SES and Flag Officers, and defense primes with a high level of tact and diplomacy. Assists with front office operations and visitors and provides information as needed, requiring a comprehensive knowledge of Office of the Secretary of Defense missions, policies and operations
- Compose responses to routine inquiries and assists the Director in communication with subordinates
- Follow administrative, confidential, and sensitive data guidelines and records management
- Provide graphic and presentation support, and editing of other author's documentation.
MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience conducting project and program analysts of classified and sensitive efforts
- Experience supporting senior government civilians
- Knowledgeable of administrative office automation operations such as filing, Microsoft Office and database programs
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and professional appearance and countenance
- Comfortable interacting with high-level individuals and functions well in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a team player skilled with resolving conflicts
- Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented
- Hard-working, dependable and able to work without direct supervision
- Current TS/SCI eligible
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous Office of the Secretary of Defense/Pentagon/Service/ National Capital Region experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- DoD or National Capital Region work experience
- Proficient with Correspondence and Task Management System
- Experience supporting senior government civilians (EA roll preferred)
