Assistant Executive Director
Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing
1. Knowledgeable about the non-medical home care industry in Atlanta; including the major players, competitors and market position
2. Understands and can articulate the benefits of home care to both professional referral sources and consumers
3. Conducts business in a professional and ethical manner
4. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with all referral sources, including physicians, nursing homes assisted living facilities, hospital case managers, discharge planners, and other appropriate referral sources
5. Develops and executes sales plans to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goal
6. Must be able to generate incremental business from referral sources quickly (typically within 30 – 60 days)
7. 3 years of assisted-living-care sales experience in the Atlanta area strongly preferred
Administration
1. Be responsible for determining who is admitted into an assisted living facility
2. Manage, outline and coordinate services geared toward older adults who may require assistance with eating, bathing, taking medication and other basic functions.
3. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assisted living facilities and ensure that all staff are providing the best service possible.
4. Administrators supervise all security, transportation and monitoring needs at their location.
5. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the facility programs and activities. supervise for the assisted living staff and perform managerial tasks such as hiring, evaluating, assigning duties and firing assisted living staff.
6. Maintain, adhere and communicate written policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility.
7. Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. Assist the governing body to develop and implement a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections. Review the plan and progress with the owner.
8. Ensure the facility complies with and maintains licensures appropriate to an assisted living facility.
9. Assist subordinates in the development and use of policies and procedures.
10. Assist the governing body in representing the facility in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers.
11. Make routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
12. Develop and maintain an effective communication relationship with families and residents.
13. Develop and maintain good public relations that serve the best interest of the facility and the community alike.
14. Ensure that all residents receive care in a manner and in an environment that maintains or enhances their quality of life.
15. Guide and participate in facility marketing activities.
16. Make sure that all the documental files meet the requirements by rules/regulations.
17. Keep expenses and staffing in line with revenue.
Personnel Functions
1. Ensure that all facility personnel, residents, visitors, and guests follow established safety regulations, to which include, but not limited to, fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control.
2. Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in good repair.
Safety and Sanitation

3. Work with the Subordinates during the investigation and resolution of all accidents/incidents. Provide guidance where necessary. With the subordinates and the governing body, review all accident/incident reports and establish an effective safety program.
4. Remain on call after work hours
Budget and Planning Functions
1. Assist in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of in-service training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs.
2. Assist in the implementation and review of the annual operating budget. Allocate the resources as defined by the budget to achieve the facility’s goals.
3. Assist in the establishment and maintenance of effective facility systems that achieve budget goals and targets.
