Role Summary
The Expeditor plans, supports and solves aircraft parts and materials issues for Horizon Air. As an individual contributor this role makes significant decisions surrounding all Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) requirement processes, including out of service and heavy maintenance aircraft.
Key Duties
- Solves and solves aircraft parts and materials issues for Horizon Air.
- Coordinates parts & tooling activity related to AOGs, Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL), Deferred Maintenance Items (DMI) and other work stoppages. This coordination involves direct communication with Maintenance Control, Purchasing, Rotables, Planning, Internal Shops, as well as external vendors.
- Performs research in TRAX (Aircraft Maintenance and material tracking system) to determine part status (i.e. quantities on order. PO/RO numbers, vendor due dates, etc.) to ensure they meet the required demand dates.
- Sources and procures AOG tooling and materials to support the operational schedule, with each decision considering location, availability, cost, method and speed of execution with overall financial performance a factor.
- Sources and procures Heavy Check aircraft materials prior to induction.
- Reviews materials daily requirements for scheduled / unscheduled maintenance and ensures all materials and tooling are available for use at the specified MRO on the planned date.
- Performs Receiving Inspection function for AOG materials. Augments daily receiving inspection as demand dictates.
- Provide training and support for external Maintenance vendors.
- Generates and reviews a collection of reports pertaining to Key Performance Indicators (KPI), daily MTX activity, Materials Shelf Life, Engineering controls and materials movements to ensure all metrics are with acceptable parameters.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of warehouse, parts or materials experience in lieu of this degree.
- Strong Diplomacy and teamwork skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Unwavering attention to detail.
- Organized and be able to work without direct supervision.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
- Ability to work a variety of schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
