Job summary
Resolve vendor-related problems with regard to specifications, timing, quality, quantity and delivery. Collect, maintain and coordinate system data and follow-up with vendors as needed.
Core Job Responsibility
- Follow up with suppliers regarding past due Purchase Orders (PO). Coordinate with Medline Distribution Centers to ensure proper receipts of delivered material are applied.
- Inform Buyer of potential backorders as necessary
- Maintain delivery dates of POs. Ensure customer confirmation dates are accurate
- Communicate any vendor backorder situation or shortfall of inventory to re-buyer. This includes updating the PO notes with the issue, expected delivery date and the vendors estimated ship date
- Contact vendor to follow up and update expediting requests on specific PO and/or material codes
- Ensure all critical materials are slotted and received
- May focus on new distribution deals, coordination with PO confirmations in Shanghai or the import side of re-buying
- Take corrective action associated with interaction with the vendor, correction to vendor data associated with fax numbers, discontinued products or credit hold situations with vendors
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Additional
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns)
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to various audience levels

Relevant Work Experience
- At least 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- SAP, Access and/or FoxPro
