Job description
Leading investment bank focused on sell-side M&A advisory is seeking an experienced FINRA (79) licensed analyst to join our team in Boston. Candidates with previous M&A experience are encouraged to apply. We would like the candidate to start immediately.

The Analyst is a critical member of the investment banking team and is responsible for leading the overall due diligence process and supporting the senior bankers who are executing the transactions.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic accounting and valuation methodologies and will possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will be expected to research new and prospective clients and their industries, assist in the creation of tailored pitch books, as well as contribute to the composition of financial models and offering memoranda. The candidate will gain in depth exposure to the financials and operations of companies in a wide-range of industries, and to the processing of investment banking transactions including mergers and acquisitions and private placements on behalf of these companies.
Job Duties
- Constructs financial models focusing on transaction valuation work through comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow analysis and other industry metrics
- Assists in the development and composition of appropriate written documentation including tailored pitch books, offering memoranda, company marketing collateral, management presentations, valuation reports and other transaction materials
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative data and industry data analysis
- Contributes to deal sourcing efforts by researching new and prospective clients as well as their respective industries to help compile pitch books and/or internal memos
- Other duties as required
Specific duties include: Preparation of offering documents and pitch books, conducting industry research, preparing detailed financial analysis, and buyer lists. Helping to prepare and manage data rooms, researching and compiling M&A comps, managing confidentiality agreements, and assisting with all other administrative functions during an M&A process.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Finance or Accounting Preferred)
Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years of investment banking, private equity firm or related financial services office experience preferred or related internship work
License/Certifications:
- Qualification as a General Securities Representative (FINRA Series 79 and 63), if not currently held, will be required to be completed within a certain period of time upon being hired
Software:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and S&P Capital IQ
