Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university.
Summary:
The primary responsibility of this student position is to support the Rountree Commons Staff in maintaining and enhancing the residential community. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning/disinfecting common area spaces such as floor lounges, kitchens, and first floor, vacuuming, moving trash & recycling to the main trash room on the first floor from floor trash rooms, and possibly assisting with painting and repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with general building cleaning, disinfecting and related services.
- Service garbage and recycling areas, including but not limited to: proper removal and transport of materials to the disposal areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Current student at University of Wisconsin-Platteville
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
- Possess strong customer service skills.
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Work Hours
This student position is anticipated to work 10-18 hours a week. The work schedule will consist of 4 hours working on Saturday and Sunday (there is the possibility to flex your time if you will be away for the weekend) and the remaining hours will be scheduled around classes and student involvement obligations Monday through Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm. While some break periods are given as paid, there is also the opportunity to work for additional hours over the break period, including summer.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lit and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Compensation
Facilities Assistants will be is paid as an employee discount that is applied to your housing fee through your Rountree Commons Resident Portal account at a rate of $9.25 an hour. If a Facilities Assistant does not meet the weekly hourly obligation or if they falsify their timesheet in order to make their weekly obligation of hours, they will be held financially responsible to pay the difference on the account. Facilities Assistant will need to work 17.8 hours per week for their housing to be fully compensated. For this purpose, the housing fees will be due one month behind the typical schedule for Facilities Assistants.
