Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary, acute and chronic patient care (including emergency care) to include, but not limited to, ambulatory clinical care at an Association operated Community Health Center, and/or out-patient or in-patient medical, surgical and maternity care at a hospital or nursing home.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with patients, treating each one equally without regard to their race, creed, color, sex, or socioeconomic status.
  • Perform clinic health care duties for an agreed upon number of hours per week. These hours will be determined by mutual consent between the Physician and the Executive Director. They will be maintained flexible in order to allow for hospital duties, continued education activities, and the needs of clinic patients.
  • Maintain full active hospital privileges at Othello Community Hospital.
  • Provide services for emergency call coverage and in-patient care, including OB and surgeries, at Othello Community Hospital on week-days, evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. These duties will be coordinated with the schedule of the Association health facilities and approved by the Medical Director.
  • Serve as Preceptor to Physicians in training, PA’s, and FNP’s, as requested by the Medical Officer.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of all clinical activities pertaining to patient care. Record keeping shall be in accordance with medical records protocol with only approved forms used.
  • Meet all requirements with regard to approved continuing medical education. Advise Medical Director or preferences in advance to accommodate appropriate scheduling.
  • Participate in and be part of the Association’s Health Care Provider Quality Assurance Peer Review Program.
  • Attend staff conferences and medical meetings.
  • Be available for consultation with other Association Health Care Providers and the Association Director and Board of Directors. Consultation may include, but shall not be limited to, administrative matters, medical or business policy and procedures, personnel policy, training and education for employees and patients, governmental regulations, program planning and evaluation, and quality of care assurance.
  • Any questions regarding Board activity, Board Committees, requests from the Board, etc., shall first be discussed with the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Devote entire time and attention to the practice of this profession, together with such administrative and management duties as may be required.
  • SHALL NOT, without the express written consent of the Association, directly or indirectly render services of a professional nature to or for any person or firm for compensation while employed by the Association, or engage in any activity competitive with or adverse to the Association’s business or practice, whether alone or as an officer, director, employee, or shareholder of any other corporation or as a trustee, fiduciary or other representative of any other activity.
  • Promotes a positive work culture and upholds clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of Behavior.
  • Must uphold confidentiality at all times in regards to CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA.
Qualifications:

Professional and Technical Knowledge:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical School.
  • Maintain authoritative skill and knowledge in the principles of sound medical practice.
  • Secure good working knowledge of administrative and personnel practices.
  • Familiarity with the scope of practice and general knowledge of the regulatory authority governing the practice of physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.
  • Be attuned to the unique needs of the indigent and underserved with practice emphasis on rural medicine needs.
  • At least one year of internship.

License and Certification:
  • Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Washington.

Technical Skills:
  • Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.
  • Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record Software.

Communication Skills:
  • Responsible for effectively communicating basic or non-technical information to co-workers and others
  • Ability to provide effective communication of information in written (including electronic) correspondence.
  • Job duties require the effective communication of information during informal and formal verbal presentations.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Employees and dependents also receive one additional hardware credit per year at CBHA’s cost + 20% (used for non-prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, or a second pair of prescription glasses). $35 copay is waived for preventative services

403 (b) Retirement Plan:

Safe Harbor Match: Employees are eligible to receive a Safe Harbor Match of 100% up to 4% of the employee’s total salary. Employee is full vested in Safe Harbor Match from day 1. Contributions are subject to IRS guidelines.

Non-Elective Contribution- Provided the employee has met enrollment qualifications, employee will also receive 4% employer contribution of employee’s total salary at the end of the Plan Year at the discretion of Board of Directors.


Vacation (Personal Leave):
  • Full-time exempt employees in their first year will have 80 hours of PTO input into their PTO account at the start of hire. For the reminder of the first year of employment, they will accrue at the rate of .05385 per hour worked not to exceed a per pay period accrual of 4.308 hours.
  • In year two and thereafter, they will accrue at the rate of .09231 per hour not to exceed a pay period accrual of 7.38 hours.
  • Employees receive 8 vacation hours (Wellness Day) added to their bank on each anniversary date.
