GENERAL SUMMARY

Grow the scope and reach of SPX Field Service efforts by providing world class service and repair for all Delavan based equipment including the following brands: WCB, APV, Gerstenberg - Schroder, B&L and Seital. This would be accomplished through site visits as well as in house repairs. In addition to repair/maintenance site visits there would also be a requirement to drive increased parts sales through interaction between customers and current distributors. When not traveling this position requires the individual to be working in an assembly/repair role based on current SPX factory load.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Service and/or repair all varieties of SPX Delavan based equipment.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Developing an automation solution that meets the requirements of the proposal or project.
  • Ensuring design and execution outputs are delivered in line with the time schedule and quality requirements.
  • Install & Commissioning of equipment
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, trends and findings.
  • Keep management/ sales team, sales reps, and customers informed of any potential concerns. Demonstrate professional conduct in all dealings with customers (if applicable), sales reps, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Determine and follow all local, state, and federal as well as all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Provide technical input to the design of service product offerings. Provide technical input to the design of service training programs and conduct service training when required.
  • Attend all offered training on the repair of Delavan equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 5+ years of automation execution experience, preferably in food & beverage, pharmaceutical and/or other hygienic industries.
  • Experience with and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of and experience with AB Rockwell and Siemens programming environments (e.g. ControlLogix, S7, TIA Portal,).
  • Understanding of control requirements for common hygienic processes (e.g. pasteurization, CIP) would be beneficial.
  • A valid driver's license is a must.
