We are currently seeking a reliable individual to join the Omaha Steel team as a Stand Grinder (Finisher).
Classification Level A
- Encompasses all duties, responsibilities and skills of B level
- Able to independently train others within this position on all classifications listed below
- Must be proficient in all aspects of the finishing department
- Must have good knowledge of all parts
- Demonstrates high proficiency in both production and quality
Classification Level B
- Proper use of stationary grinders or hand tools
- Grinds parting lines and excess metal from casting surfaces
- The knowledge to gage castings when required
- Demonstrates proficiency in both production and quality
Entry Level Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic math skills
- Must have the ability to repetitively lift up to 100 lbs. (employees are encouraged to seek assistance when lifting over 50 lbs. and assistance is readily available.)
- Work in or near extremes in temperatures and dusty environment
- Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in an unsupervised manner
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must have reliable attendance, willing to work flexible hours, & work well with others
- Must perform other duties assigned
