The City of Sugar Land is looking for people driven by a desire to contribute, committed to public service and who possess a willingness to be challenged. The Fire-EMS Department is currently recruiting for Firefighter-Basic.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under Direct Supervision of a Lieutenant, this position will perform technical work providing Emergency Medical Services (EMS), rescue operations and appropriate patient care including ambulance transportation at the scenes of emergency situations. Firefighter Basics are assigned to a 48-hour work schedule per week. Duties are performed under emergency conditions and frequently involve considerable personal hazard while responding to emergency medical calls.

Effective November 25, 2022 Texas will no longer authorize Medical Directors to allow National Registry certifications in lieu of obtaining TDSHS certifications, so TDSHS certifications will be required for all personnel moving forward. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Starting salary: $62,637 Annually. Education Pay, Assignment Pay if qualified (rules apply) and excellent benefits. Offers of employment are contingent upon the results of a pre-employment controlled substance screening, criminal conviction background assessment, and a physical examination.
