Role Objective

Dumont JETS is currently seeking a full-time Flight Operations Manager for our Charter division who will be based in our New Castle, DE location to oversee the Flight Department.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage the Flight coordinator’s schedules and evaluate performance
  • Stay current with changes to regulations and update the staff accordingly
  • Assist in organizing day-to-day flight operations in accordance with all Federal and company regulations and requirements
  • Ensure all crewmembers and trips are scheduled in accordance with the FARs and Company policies and procedures
  • Communicate with crewmembers, and others as needed, to convey accurate information to ensure safe, efficient, and timely flight plans and services
  • Oversee the scheduling and managing of ground transportation, hotel accommodations, and airline travel for flight crew and/or passengers
  • Confirm trip sheets and all other required trip documents are sent to and received by the appropriate flight department and/or crewmembers
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal departments maintain an efficient schedule and ensure up time for aircraft.
  • Negotiate service item discounts with FBOs and contract fuel providers daily to meet department budgets
  • Identify ways to continually improve practices and efficiencies for various job functions to ensure smooth department operation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Constantly operates a telephone requiring oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication
  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently
  • Ability to move from department and buildings to interact with others

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar manager level position
  • Minimum 5 years of 135 operations experience
  • Knowledge of Jet insight a plus
  • Must pass background check
  • Ability to work offsite on call during nights, weekends, and/or holidays on a rotating schedule
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
