Job Title: Lead Janitorial Associate

Hours: up to 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday 11pm-7am

Classification: Hourly

General Description:

It is the responsibility of the Janitorial Associate for the daily cleaning and light maintenance of the YMCA Facility. This will be demonstrated by following the standards set forth by the YMCA.

Essential Job Duties That Must Be Safely Performed With or Without Reasonable Accommodation:

• Daily cleaning of the building.
• Perform light maintenance duties as deemed appropriate by the Facilities Director (i.e. painting, carpentry work).
• Clean windows and mirrors weekly.
• Dump trash daily.
• Clean surrounding grounds, including playground, parking lot, outside buildings and landscaping as necessary.
• Maintain organization of shop areas and maintenance area.
• Assist with annual clean-up week.
• Set up and take down tables and chairs for reservations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures under the direction of the Facilities Director.

Non-essential Job Duties:

• Attend staff meetings as required.

Physical Demands/Hazards:

• The position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling.
• This position may result in exposure to biomedical (infectious disease, body waste/fluids) and chemical hazards.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds.
• The employee must be competent with ladders and obey all safety requirements.

Required Job Skills:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
• The position requires someone with excellent social skills and be able to interact properly with members and other employees
• Support the YMCA mission.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
• Prior cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical preferred but not required.

Pay Frequency:

• Bi weekly or Twice monthly
