Job Title: Hydroponic Greenhouse Production Worker

Reports To: Greenhouse Management

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Fresh Local Produce of Ohio LLC is a technologically advanced greenhouse with a fully automated hydroponic system. This innovative technology allows the Company to provide our local communities with fresh, safe and the best tasting lettuce all year round. Summary: Responsible for following standard operating procedures assigned at each shift and flexible to work in various departments of the greenhouse when needed. Each shift will include completing Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures, comprehending machinery mechanism, and follow all company protocols for health and safety of the product and working environment by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Performs packing and shipping duties.*

2. Receives and stores incoming raw materials.*

3. Ensures all machinery is working efficiently and report any issues immediately to a greenhouse management team member.*

4. Provides quality check on all finished product before putting into shipping cases.*

5. Maintains irrigation solutions on seeding line.*

6. Functions computer software on machinery.*

7. Restocks trays and film in heat sealing packing machine.*

8. Moves all finished product to shipping area and ensures labels on pallets are correct.*

9. Performs assembly and disassembly of machinery for cleaning and sanitation activities.*

10. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of facility at all times.

11. Understands tasks needed to be completed each shift.*

12. Functions as a team member, and flexible to work in various departments of the green house.*

13. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures including biosecurity and food safety protocols.*

14. Participates in employee trainings when scheduled to benefit employees working progress.*

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Computerized weighing machine, seeding machine, and packaging machine.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training:

· Experience in warehouse/manufacturing procedures and processes

· Cold storage experience and proper food handling procedures

· Knowledge of hydroponic cultivation

Equipment:

· Tray sealing machine

· Computerized multi-head scale

· Computerized harvesting and blending machine

· Computerized seeding line

· Rockwell media cutting and filling machine

· Pallet jack

· Various other manufacturing equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

· Good with hands and mechanical minded

· Ability to work with little / no supervision

· Ability to prioritize and problem solve

· Ability to work independently but also in a team environment

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Ability to be flexible with work assignments

· Maintain a neat/clean work environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme cold (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and dust exposure.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
