REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess active ASE certificate, Class B, Commercial Driver's License with S&P endorsement.
High school diploma and at least three years related experience.
Must have skill in bus and automobile vehicle repair techniques, operation of hand and small and/or large power tools

QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensures that all vehicles are serviced on a regular basis and performs preventative maintenance and repair work on Board owned vehicles in accordance with accepted standards for mechanical work.
• Maintains records of parts used and work performed.
• Performs periodic inspection on the fleet for cleanliness, body damage and other problems and follows up with staff on repairs.
• Assists with accident investigations.
• Administers the bus body-care program: including washing, waxing, painting and repair.
• Monitors district field trip requests.
• Evaluates and reviews bus repair requests.
• Maintains daily records of repairs and maintenance of school bus fleet.
• Maintains inventory of repair parts needed to be stocked, orders parts as needed for repairs and recommends purchases as needed.
• Assists with snow removal processes as needed.
• Drives school bus as applicable.
• Assists with purchase orders and bid requests.
• Recommends the purchase of tools and equipment to the Transportation Supervisor as needed.
• Assists with building checks as needed.
• Maintains up to date knowledge of technology utilized by the district.
• Must satisfy all job-related attendance requirements.
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

Availability of Position: Immediately

Salary Range: $41,975 - $55,027
Placement on the salary schedule depends upon career preparation and work experience in the field - 260-day contract.
