Direct Support Professionals needed for Autistic children and teens ages 9-16

HIRING URGENTLY ASAP!

Seeking DSP workers that are ready, willing and able to work with special needs children and teens with autism and developmental disabilities/delays

Jobs are in the clients private home

(Clients homes are located in Brooklyn zip codes 11207, 11208 and 11239)

ABOUT THE CLIENTS:

*Children live in private houses with their families

*Clients are children ranging from ages 9-16

*Clients aren't toilet trained and still wear diapers

*Clients are non verbal and do not talk

*Clients are fully dependent and require adult supervision at all times

*Clients may have behavior issues

*Some Clients may use light weight wheelchair or strollers when outside

JOB PAY:

Hamaspik of Kings County is the employer

Pay is $17 per hour for ALL shifts

SHIFT 1

Fridays 6pm-6am (12 hours)

Saturdays 6pm-6am (12 hours)

SHIFT 2

Saturdays 6am-6pm (12 hours)

Sundays 6am-6pm (12 hours)

SHIFT 3

Fridays 4pm-8am (16 hours)

Saturdays 4pm-8am (16 hours)

SHIFT 4

Saturdays 8am-4pm (8 hours)

Sundays 8am-4pm (8 hours)

***Children sleep from 9pm-6am everyday without waking up***

A CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AIDE WILL BE AVAILABLE EVERYDAY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8AM-4PM TO PROVIDE HELP WITH THE CHILD OR TEEN IF NEEDED

***Extra hours are available each week on Weekday afternoons and school holidays***

JOB DUTIES:

Duties include light cooking, feeding, medication administration, bathing, grooming, dressing, changing diapers, companionship and taking child out in the community for recreational activities, doctor's appointments and shopping

(Taxi or Parents vehicle will be used to transport children in the community)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

*Must be willing to work the full shift straight through

*Must have at least 1 year of experience caring for special needs or disabled children or adults

*Must be reliable, punctual and respectful to Clients and clients family

*Must be patient, understanding of the Clients needs and wants

*Must be able to provide care, comfort, safety, compassion and accommodations for the children at all times

*Must be clean, sanitary and keep up with children's hygiene

*Must be respectful of client family home and all of its personal belongings

*Must not mentally, emotionally or physically abuse children in any way or subject to OPWDD DOJ Criminal Investigation

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour
