Job Purpose:

  • The Housekeeping Supervisor works within guidelines as set forth by corporate policy, the Facilities Manager, Director of Operations, and President in fulfilling duties of the position. Ensures high guest service scores, trip advisor ranking, and guest recovery. Trains and enforces high guest service standards throughout the staff.
  • Supervises the daily operation of the housekeeping department, and directs the work activities of all assigned personnel including houseman, room, lobby/lounge (breakfast) and laundry attendants, to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of all guest rooms and public areas of the property. Maintains liaison with Facilities Manager, Guest Service Supervisor, and Maintenance to achieve the companys objectives.
  • This position requires to assist guests efficiently and courteously in all areas and/or other assigned department related functions, while projecting high standards of service and professionalism at all times. Create and nurture a hotel environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and a passion for providing service. Be readily available and approachable for all team members.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Implements and maintains departmental cleaning quality standards and procedures.
  • Assigns rooms to be cleaned to room attendants daily including finalizing Daily paperwork by shift end
  • Inspects all rooms and common areas each day to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operation of the department and work activities of assigned personnel.
  • Confers and cooperates with other property personnel to resolve operating problems and ensures coordination of property activities of assigned personnel.
  • Interviews and recommends new personnel as needed.
  • Implements training programs for all assigned personnel and assures that on-going training is provided.
  • Initiates and recommends personnel actions, including associate counseling sessions, reprimands, performance appraisals and terminations.
  • Reports to the Facilities Manager and Director of Operations significant results, problems, and personnel actions regarding assigned personnel.
  • Conducts daily jump start meetings
  • Conducts a period ending inventory of supplies and linen.
  • Schedules staff two weeks in advance accordingly to hotel demand and occupancy.
  • Monitors performance and MPORs
  • Completes purchase orders and submits to Facilities Manager and Director of Operations for approval.
  • Places orders with vendors for approved purchases.
  • Checks and records pertinent comments on Slack
  • Executes other associated responsibilities as directed by the Facilities Manager and Director of Operations.
  • Reports in proper uniform which is cleaned and pressed.
  • Conduct associate performance evaluations as prescribed
  • If applicable, inspects all conference rooms and common areas each day to ensure setup, cleanliness, & security standards are met.
  • Reports in a proper uniform which is cleaned and pressed.
  • Promotes and monitors all Social Media for the hotel, leading by example increasing social media reviews and scores.
