HCH Enterprises, LLC is seeking a HR Analyst I Role – Leave and Disability Management in support of the State of Rhode Island Department of Administration (DOA). The Human Resources Analyst 1 will provide specialized direct, professional level support and assistance to employees and managers in their assigned State agencies regarding all matters related to employees’ medical conditions and/or disabilities. The Human Resources Analyst 1 will serve as a member of the Disability Management team and will report to supervisors in the Disability Management Unit. The Human Resources Analyst 1 will:

· Determine employees’ eligibility for FMLA leave, designate FMLA leave based upon supporting medical certification of qualifying medical conditions, and communicate with employees and supervisors regarding FMLA leave;

· Contact employees and follow-up as necessary regarding medical absences - provide guidance and direction regarding medical documentation required and options such as leaves of absence and disability retirement

· Determine whether medical documentation submitted by employees is acceptable to excuse absences, and follow-up as necessary

· Receive initial requests from employees for reasonable accommodation for disabilities and assist with obtaining relevant information

· Review medical releases to determine if acceptable to clear employee to return to work from medical absence

· Serve as a liaison with Beacon Mutual Insurance Company, the administrator of the State’s Workers’ Compensation Program

· Field questions and consult with employees, supervisors, administrators and union representatives regarding matters such as medical absence or accommodations for disability

· Exchange information as necessary with other HR teams such as Talent Management, Payroll and Employee Benefits

· Provide notices and correspond in writing with employees and supervisors regarding leaves of absence and status of employment

· Assist employees and managers with return-to-work programs such as “light duty”, modified work schedules and transitional assignments

· Maintain databases re leaves of absence and generate reports

· Monitor, review and analyze leaves of absence to determine appropriate management strategies in consultation with Disability Management supervisors

· Notify employees of termination of leaves of absences, requirements for return to work and options if employee is unable to return

· Prepare Employer’s Statements and supporting documentation for Employees’ Applications for Disability Retirement Benefits

· Establish and maintain the medical portion of employees’ personnel records

· Protect employees’ medical information from disclosure and observe strict confidentiality with regard to all matters handled in the Disability Management Unit

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a bachelor’s degree with specialization in human resources management or a closely related field and 3-5 years of related experience in the administration of leaves of absence. Must have a working knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to leaves of absence and disability management, experience working with absence management systems, possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills and the ability to work independently as well as to serve as a contributing member of a team.

This is a full-time, onsite position.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $48,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
