About the role...

Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for providing seamless human resources support and services to staff and management across the organization. This customer service oriented team member will help to inform and implement policies and procedures across the entire employee lifecycle, from pre-onboarding to off-boarding. The HR Generalist will also help support the Human Resources department by assisting with recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and other programs.

You will...

  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, scheduling and/or conducting interviews, and issuing offer letters via HRIS system
  • Support the onboarding of new hires
  • Assist with facilitating New Hire Orientation
  • Support HRIS processes such as transfers, reorganizations, shift changes, compensation changes, etc
  • Support the department with ad hoc report requests
  • Assist the HR Manager with responding to employee relations concerns as needed
  • Engage with employees and managers to help resolve employee questions
  • Provide guidance to management and deliver HR support and service aligned with organizational needs
  • Develop effective working relationships across HR functions to understand key process requirements and drive efficient resolution of problems that may arise
  • Works closely with managers to develop and drive human resource activities and processes relative to employee performance that support business initiatives
  • Performs other related and unrelated responsibilities, as needed to support the Human Resources function
  • Assists the HR Manager and HR team with various projects as needed

You need...

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of comparable experience in the Human Resources industry
  • Experience with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate member of the HR team as needed
  • Knowledge of current federal, state, and local employment laws, statutes, regulations, policies, and compliance
  • Excellent time management, decision-making, presentation, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of HR processes, systems and best practices, as well as legal compliance with national employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to understand business needs and connect those to human resources strategies and plans for assigned business unit
  • Demonstrates curiosity and desire to continuously learn and grow
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (UKG a plus)
  • Exceptional customer- service, communication (writing, editing, verbal, and presentation) skills necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels in the organization, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (collaboration, advanced problem-solving orientation and decision making, teamwork, conflict resolution) with ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion; and maintaining a high level of professionalism and strict confidentiality
