We are currently seeking an HSE Training Coordinator to support our Permian region locations in Midland, TX.


Purpose:

The Training Instructor is responsible for administering training and learning opportunities in accordance with industry, and company standards and requirements. The Training Instructor will conduct new hire orientation, refresher training, remedial training, and continuous improvement training. The training Instructor will follow the written curriculum provided by the Training Manager. The Training Instructor will work closely with Safety, Operations, Human Resources and leadership team to determine training needs, coordinate training, and do analysis to develop a comprehensive training program for the Company.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and Facilitate the new hire orientation HSE training including, but not limited to, classroom, hands-on, CBT.
  • Choosing appropriate training methods per case (online, in-person, virtual, mentoring/coaching, professional development, on the job training, etc)
  • Marketing available training opportunities to employees and providing necessary information
  • Training subject matter experts on preferred delivery methods and assess instructional effectiveness to determine impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
  • Communicate with supervisors to identify training needs and mapping out development plans.
  • Should be familiar with different delivery methods and educational materials.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records as requested from Training Manager
  • Maintain in-house training facilities and required equipment
  • Perform Smith System Driver Training as needed
  • Partner with Safety, Operations and Human Resources initiatives to ensure training programs are consistent with Company culture and operational activity
  • Work with location management, managers, supervisors and safety coordinators to implement and update safety training.
  • Ability to assess driving skills and rate drivers and Perform Smith System Driver Training as needed
  • Provide input in designing and developing training programs to maintain interest, ensure compliance and maximize retention, particularly for the driving education experience
  • Teach driver refresher training, document and make recommendations to determine the competency and readiness of drivers
  • Communicate progress of trainees to Training Manager and District Leadership
  • Assist Training Manager with new processes and process changes as needed by the organization
  • Travel to KLX Energy Services field locations to assist HSE personnel as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Related Work Experience: 3 -5 years or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Industry specific continuing education required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can follow written curriculum
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read written safety instructions, ability to communicate in front of groups. Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to define and solve problems.

  • OSHA 10
  • OSHA 30
  • Smith Driving Systems Instructor
  • CPR Instructor
  • PEC Instructor (H2S Clear, Safeland, Safe Supervisor)

Physical Requirements:

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, push, pull, lift, bend or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
