POSITION PURPOSE

The Human Resource Manager executes and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource Function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Consult with managers/supervisors providing HR guidance when appropriate.

2. Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt positions, co-op/work study programs, Internships and temporary employees; conduct new-employee orientation; position description, schedule interviews, background checks, drug screening and HPE physical (when applicable) appointments, compensation recommendations, extend offers, process all new hire paperwork.

3. Process voluntary and involuntary terminations, Unemployment separation paperwork, COBRA administration and working with the payroll administrator to obtain final monetary payout as applicable.

4. Manage and resolve complex employee relation issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations, performance improvement, disciplinary, employee and/or supervisor coaching.

5. Assist Management with promotions, transfers and demotions.

6. Crafting, enforcement, support and interpretation of all Company Policies and Procedures; Recommend in the development and implementation of new or updating of personnel policies and procedures; maintain and update employee handbook and other forms of communication.

7. Annual Benefit renewal; working with the benefits broker to determine best renewal path for benefits and cost effectiveness, conduct open enrollment and implement plans and changes, assisting and guiding personnel as needed.

8. Continue to process any new benefit enrollments or qualified enrollment changes with the carriers throughout the plan year as well as supporting the population with any issues that may come up with their plan(s).

9. Maintain all aspects of Employee H.SA accounts for Employer and Employee Funding. Make sure H.SA accounts and balances are within IRS regulation.

10. Monthly benefit billing reconciliation and approval.

11. Research and keep current on new developments and changes in State and Federal laws, regulations and employer requirements ensuring the Company is in compliance.

12. Creating, maintaining and controlling personnel files, recruitment files, reports, organization charts, staffing numbers, etc.

13. Management of all Company Leaves and required reporting; including but not limited to OSHA Log, CTFMLA, FMLA, CTPL, STD/LTD.

14. Handling Workers’ Compensation, Automobile and Liability claims.

15. Stay informed on all Safety initiatives, Committee and Compliance.

16. When applicable, maintain immigration/visa files working with the President, applicable Manager and the Immigration Attorney for obtaining and/or renewing appropriate Visas.

17. Plan and organize employee activities and company events.

18. Conduct training required by law or when requested by management. Maintain training records.

19. Maintain bulletin boards; Employer board for required notices, Employee board for tidiness and appropriate content.

20. Working with the TPA, Financial Advisor and Financial Institution; Administer and Support the Company 401k Plan; Compliance Meetings, OE, Employee Education, Process Loans or any other Plan compliant withdrawal, Etc.

21. Year-end reporting whether regulatory or for Payroll W-2 filing.

22. Support the Company population while being conscious of the fine line between Employees and the Company.

OTHER DUTIES

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of Human Resources experience desireable.

Experience: 7-10years experience in a similar position. Previous experience in a Manufacturing setting that included the Group Benefit renewal process is highly desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

1. Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Word.

2. Familiar with HR database systems.

3. Recruitment experience.

4. Training experience.

5. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization – internally and externally.

6. Strong background in a Manufacturing environment.

7. Excellent consulting skills.

8. Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict management skills.

9. Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.

10. Manage multiple conflicting priorities.

11. Flexible and approachable to interact with employees at all levels.

12. Self-directed and motivated.
