IT Specialist

For 25 years Rummel Construction, Inc. has been providing high quality earthmoving and heavy civil construction services throughout Arizona and the Greater Southwest. Rummel Construction, Inc. is looking for a qualified ambitious individual to join our IT Systems Team. This position will work closely with our IT Manager, and helps support our IT helpdesk specialist. The role will involve multiple tasks to help with the IT department needs. The IT Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our on-premise network and workstation infrastructure as well as making suggestions for upgraded systems and network needs for continued growth. Will participate in all aspects of application lifecycle management including software selection, implementation, configuration, deployment, training and support. Assist or be available during off hours to respond to issues and alerts. Plans and manages technology projects within area of responsibility. Additionally, this individual will have an opportunity to further advance and broaden their skill sets within Security & Network Technology.

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities:
Support and maintain wireless networks
Secure and monitor all network devices
Assist in definition software, hardware, and network standards
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure
Diagnose network issues
Maintain VOIP phone system
Participate with Network related contracts and vendors
Respond to and remediate infrastructure alarms, and user requests on service desk
Help in continuous and ongoing refinement of internal processes, cost and operational efficiency
Identify and improve pain points according to best practices
Ensure accurate IT standards and tools are implemented

Specific Skills:
Hands-on experience with Windows environment
Basic knowledge of Active Directory management
Experience with Windows 10 troubleshooting
Experience with Powershell scripting
Familiarity with Virtual LANs, port security
Experience troubleshooting systems
Documentation of network, system, and process changes in ticketing system
Familiar with a range of software and hardware
Self-manage projects
Critical thinking to find long lasting solutions instead of temporary workarounds

Preferred Experience:
WhatsUpGold network monitoring
Windows Update Server WSUS
PDQ or similar software deployment tool
Familiar with Network Monitoring solutions
Ability to write PowerShell scripts to automate processes
Familiar with Sophos and Mimecast
Familiar with on-prem exchange
