GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible to ensure that global and regional standards and policies for the US inbound business are properly implemented and maintained across all business units and brands. This position should have an in-depth knowledge of logistics movements from domestic and international suppliers. Including experience with track and trace of the inbound cargo for direct ship customers. As well as, executing and managing transportation and logistics projects and reporting on the financial impact, savings and solutions/improvements. The Analyst will help manage and support the targets of the Global Integrated Supply Chain.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Track, trace, and update both air and ocean shipments systemically providing necessary reporting.
  • Communicate with internal customers as it relates to delays/challenges of incoming freight.
  • Communicate with the Product Supply and Inbound Origin Planning Teams for updates to ETA’s on containers and make key decisions to avoid further delays and disruptions to receiving.
  • Monitor and track ETA’s on containers/shipments and update Material Planners with dates if necessary.
  • Communicate and collaborate with various yard locations, 3PL’s to better control the flow, availability and movement of containers.
  • Lead communication with customer service, finance and sales to align ship dates.
  • Monitor the ports and railheads to ensure timely delivery direct to customers.
  • Ensure traffic/ ASN is accurate so it can be received correctly and timely.
  • Collaborate with the Direct Ship Manager on current delivery challenges and provide financial implications.
  • Monitor daily and weekly in transit reports to ensure system integrity and on time delivery.
  • Participate in global and regional logistics and transportation initiatives/projects related to the US inbound and co-ordinate implementation of deliverables across all brands.
  • Monitor and address containers at risk of aging and minimize D&D exposure.
  • Acquire and interpret data from multiple sources to create trend analysis.
  • Conduct analysis and cost studies to make informed data-based decisions and provide actionable recommendations to improve the business and/or business processes.
  • Develop new process and document SOP's to ensure the accuracy and consistency of a variety of Inbound Transportation Direct Ship functions.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools that provide track & trace and cost visibility
  • Create, Maintain, and/or modify department dashboards and analytical tools.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with a Logistics/Distribution/Supply Chain environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of AS400 and TMS preferred. Must be comfortable learning new software.
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Previous experience managing vendors/carriers preferred
  • Previous experience in customs processes and documentation
  • Previous experience in freight consolidation, freight forwarding, international air expediting, etc.
  • Experience in process improvement and best practices preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Strong organization and follow up skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to evaluate situations and make informed decisions
  • Able to perform multiple tasks at the same time
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills preferred
  • Able to match appointments to DC capacity and operational requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout day.
  • Requires occasional lifting of objects less than 25 pounds as well as occasional lifting of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
  • Requires use of protective clothing.
