RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for researching, troubleshooting, and resolving case issues and/or assist in determining all functional aspects (i.e., intake, processing, and review) of eligibility for multiple programs, including Work First Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and Food Nutrition Services in NC FAST. Responsible for assisting with existing caseloads to help reduce current workloads. Keeps abreast of policies and procedures governing all programs. Must have comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures in determining eligibility services for programs listed above. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks are essential. Strong computer skills, oral and written communications skills, organizational and time management skills are highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of NC FAST and in-depth and thorough knowledge of Income Maintenance Programs/areas of assignment and functional processes- Ability to read, analyze, comprehend, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures as well as changing policies and guidelines pertaining to eligibility requirements of programs
- Ability to resolve complex problems and analyze program wide problems and make recommendations for corrective action and targeted training
- Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures
- Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames
- Ability to work under pressure, work independently and handle multiple tasks are essential
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NC FAST Certification required within 90 days of hire unless certificate available.
Candidates will be expected to provide Shelter duties.
