Design Group is recruiting for an Industrial/Logistics Engineer in our Byhalia, MS location.

WHAT WILL I DO IN THIS ROLE?


  • Maintain capacity planning models used to establish resource requirements to support business operations.
  • Participate in and lead manufacturing and distribution process improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain cost models to support capital expenditure proposals and cost savings initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain production standards, picking rates, and incentive standards.
  • Manage and ensure accurate tracking, and timely reporting of KPIs.
  • Conduct and develop SOPs; maintain quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Assist in and lead customer, FSC, and other program audits within the facility.
  • Support sustainability opportunities within the organization as well as research and implement new initiatives.
  • Assist Finance and Cost Accounting divisions with projects related to standard costing process and analysis.
  • Produce and maintain engineered AutoCAD drawings for equipment, mechanical parts, and facility layouts.
  • Develop models for simulating and comparing activity and costs to and from multiple ship or manufacturing points.
  • Identify and qualify potential opportunities to improve service levels and reduce costs.
  • Calculate, estimate, and monitor space utilization and needs.
  • Improve storage density through use of the WMS and other systems, MHE, and storage equipment.
  • Collect data by performing time studies, sampling, and extracting data from databases.
  • Perform statistical analysis and report findings.
  • Estimate labor requirements and completion times for distribution or manufacturing functions and special projects.
  • Utilize software, customer requirements, and truck loading knowledge to determine truckload capacities.
  • Work with management team to identify and implement company safety goals.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide as-needed engineering support to other departments within the organization.
  • Provide technical support to distribution or manufacturing on material handling, storage, usage, and equipment.
  • Conduct time studies and data analyses to develop documented productivity standards by job function.
  • Develop tools to track individual performance and work with management to review and distribute.


WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED?


  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related major.
  • 0-3 years of experience in an Industrial Engineering position. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Advanced analytical skills and technical writing abilities.
  • Understanding of WMS and ERP systems, direct experience is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
