Job Title: Inside Sales(Web Sales) Department: Sales

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the Inside Sales position is to ensure website customer needs are identified and met in a timely manner, achieve customer satisfaction, and meet sales objectives and goals. As time allows, assist Quotations teams with bids and orders.



Essential Functions:

  • Answer inbound phone calls and respond to online chat inquiries from website customers.
  • Respond to emails sent to our eCommerce support inbox.
  • Assist Quotations Department with order processing as time allows.
  • Accurately process customer transactions such as website orders, quotes or returns
  • Become familiar with all facets of the procurement process
  • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
  • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
  • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
  • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
  • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
  • Utilize CRM to document all communication with customers.
  • Assist with ecommerce platform development, such as onboarding existing customers.
  • Build vendor relationships to earn their trust
  • Provide reporting to management as requested
  • Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers' profitability profiles
  • Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in BPS industry
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
  • Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
  • Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples
  • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
  • Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products
  • Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Advanced Eclipse User, Can Quickly Process Orders & Bids.
  • Knowledge of BPS Products and the Industries we serve.
  • Comfortable answering inbound phone calls from customers regarding the website.
  • Advanced Knowledge of PVF manufacturers, brands, products and categories.
  • Strong writing skills. Good email and live chat etiquette.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively with customers while maintaining and promoting a positive image
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both customers and company personnel at all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software programs; including word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail applications.
