Job Description:

HVAC Sheet Metal Installers with 2-3 years of experience in commercial building construction and sheet metal fabrication installation. Installers must have experience installing ducts following blueprints and be able to determine work details and procedures. Responsible for assembly, fabricating and installing metal ducts, be familiar with all phases of duct installation. Must understand the different connectors and hanger layout. Use hand tools and benders to construct sheet metal components, cold boxes, install VAV boxes, heaters, splitters and package units. Install sheet metal, square, round, spiral, snap, lock pipe and flex duct and collaborate with other construction professionals.

• Ability to read and comprehend project plans and specifications
• Utilize and interpret how and where to fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal product
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares
• Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips ensuring bonds will last and done correctly
• Install assemblies, including pipes, HVAC ducts, casing in supportive frameworks
• Ensure efficiency is maximize while fabricating and installing HVAC systems
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance
• Select the appropriate type and gauge of sheet metal to be used in projects according to specifications
• Installation of equipment used for heating and air conditioning and exhaust
• Layout and install hangers and sheet metal from fabrication drawings
• Ability to recognize potential issues and solve
• Work from elevated surfaces including lifts, booms, extension ladders and rooftops of various building heights
• Must own and provide own trade tools
• Lifting and carrying tools and equipment, comfortable working in confined spaces, stand, bend, kneel constantly

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
