*Ideal candidate must have Nursing Leadership Experience in the Emergency Department and be willing to travel 75%.

Interim Nurse Leader will fulfill all duties and responsibilities ordinarily and customarily associated with providing transitional leadership to a healthcare facility’s Emergency Service Line. Interim Nurse Leader will be expected to manage, supervise, evaluate, and potentially recommend improvements and changes to this Service Line and to work on-site at the client’s facility a minimum of 40 hours per week for a minimum total of 80 bi-weekly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Discovery Phase (Day 0)

Assessment Phase (Day 1-30)

Quality and Patient Experience (Days 30-60)

Efficiency and Key Metrics (Days 60-120)

Staffing and Productivity Assessment (Days 120+)

Review all policies and procedures with initial focus on the following:

Pre-employment and Professional Licensure Reinbursement

Travel and Reinbursement

Professional Conduct

Sick Leave, Holidays, and Time off

Collaboration with Department and hositpal leaders, fostering trust, transparent communication, mutual respect, and safety.

Work closely with hospital leaders to ensure structural, process, and outcome quality indecators drive best practices.

Alignment with the ED Medical Director to attain, or make significant progress toward, all of the mutually agreed upon targets for key quality and efficiency metrics. The interim nurse leader will also join Quarterly Quality Meetings with the hospital leaders, USACS clinical leaders to review the ED performance dashboard, discuss challenges to achieving excellence, and address any concerns of the hospital leaders.

  • Skill in written and verbal communication with colleagues, management, patients, and the public.
  • Skill in gathering and reporting information.
  • Skill in working with various electronic medical record systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: **

Required Education and Experience

  • Masters degree or in a masters program in nursing, business or a related discipline
  • 10 years of healthcare experience with at least 5 years in leadership (Director level or higher)
  • Fully qualified, licensed registered nurse (or will submit application prior to starting the position will become licensed within 15 days of being employed or as soon as state can issue license), and capable of performing and fulfilling all clinical nursing responsibility at assigned site

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous position as nursing leader

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: **

  • Travel required
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform job
