Job Description:
Summary
The Office of Admissions is seeking an International Pathway Coordinator to collaborate with academic college and campus partners on a new opportunity to develop and implement Iowa State’s first-year pathway program. This position will serve as the main point of contact for administrating the program, including but not limited to organizing student activities, planning marketing and recruitment initiatives, and ensuring a successful student experience.
This position will also serve as an innovative liaison to the marketing and communications team to develop electronic and print materials that advance the first-year pathway program. The Pathway Coordinator will be responsible for developing plans to gather necessary data to assess the effectiveness of the program and produce both written and verbal reports to the Office of Admissions and external partners.

The candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and well-refined interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with the ability to assess success and make innovative changes as needed. Example of Duties
  • Serve as the primary campus liaison for first-year international student pathway program.
  • Increase awareness of the first-year pathway to various departments across campus, and provide training to individuals when necessary.
  • Collaborate with college and campus partners to develop and manage the first-year pathway program and student experience.
  • Collaborate with marketing, recruitment, and college partners on the design and development of materials for the first-year pathway program to recruit and retain students.
  • Contribute to the development of media that advances the first-year pathway program, including brochures, newsletters, and online publications.
  • Visit with academic and student affairs departments to stay current with changes in university programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisor and outside consultant, receiving direction on how to develop the first-year pathway program curriculum, schedules, and other components.
  • Plan multiple events year round including organizing student activities, planning marketing and recruitment initiatives for the first-year pathway program, international recruitment partner visit program, I-FIT faculty led workshops virtual and in-person abroad, the international transfer student visit day, recruitment webinars and presentations and yield events both virtual and in person.
  • Creating registration forms and managing registrations, planning content delivery, planning and coordinating logistics.
  • This position will assist with the information gathering, assessment and reporting of program effectiveness as it pertains to first-year pathway program recruitment.
  • Work autonomously and present professional, well-written, concise and accurate reports, in written format, as well as verbally.
  • Coordinate with other international recruitment staff for the recruitment of international first-year pathway program students in their territories.
  • Counsel prospective students and families through the application process.
