The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.


Purpose of the Position


The IT Manager, HR Service Owner proactively serves as a “strategic partner,” and is the primary IT point of contact to HR leaders globally. This role has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface with the HR business leaders for the purpose of business and technology strategy development, solution discovery, project delivery, service management, risk management and relationship management. They You will partner with the HR Technology organization in managing the overall strategy and operations for HR technology and its digital ecosystem.


The IT Manager, HR Service Owner will partner with leadership across the company to design and deliver innovative solutions that lead to a great employee experience. You will drive the continued evolution of the IT HR service delivery model through innovative new digital solutions, process improvement and operational excellence.


The IT Manager, HR Service Owner Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business requests and projects and initiatives. Proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business functions. You will partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity, compliance).


The ideal candidate has a keen awareness of market trends and the experience to implement efforts across a complex and global organization. This role will drive operational excellence and scalability while enabling the team to continue building a high performing culture.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement technology roadmaps to enable Marketing and Corporate Communications strategy and vision.
  • Will support the Human Resource leaders and teams, IT Service Delivery teams’ application and support vendors.
  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets for respective business areas.
  • Develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.
  • Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
  • Create and analyze relevant information and develop recommendations that they present to senior management.
  • Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, and outside vendors.
  • Create shared vision of their respective solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms.
  • Develop and implement sound rationale for portfolio management and managing product phase-in-phase-out plans, proactively anticipating gaps and overlaps within the portfolio.
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the organization.
  • Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs.
  • Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
  • Collaborate with architecture Security and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of projects.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise to advise on HR data and technology-related matters across the organization
  • Oversee sourcing new software programs, implementation, contract renewals, and external vendor management
  • Owns, in partnership with the HR Technology organization, the core HR systems used to administer the Employee Life Cycle, provide front-line HR support and deliver HR programs to employees and managers including from business requirements through successful implementation
  • Owns operation and maintenance of over 70 mission critical interfaces between Corning’s core HR systems and other business and external applications
  • Oversees accurate and timely processing of mass data changes as part of day to day HR Technology operations
  • Enables continuous service improvements and operational efficiencies in HR operations, programs and services
  • Manage team and oversee project work assignments, schedules and deliverables within the business analyst team and across virtual project team members
  • Manage internal controls, global compliance audits (SOC-1, SOC-2, etc.).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in HR, IT or related field.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic plans and/or project portfolios in key leadership roles.

Required Skills:

  • Several years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments.
  • Prior experience managing team(s) in a global environment and working across a broad range of diverse and complex businesses.
  • Must possess strong business acumen.

The range for this position is $154,678.00 - $212,681.00 Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
