Here at oWOW, we are a driven group feeding off one another’s passion for developing, designing and building housing for ALL. Using a systems-based approach in tandem with new mass timber construction technology, oWOW aims to create more affordable, equitable and sustainable housing solutions. You will be part of a vertically integrated development team consisting of Architecture, Development, Construction & Property Management, and you will work closely with all teams to deliver quality projects on time and under budget.

Together with the Project Architects you will be responsible for the management and coordination effort necessary to produce the design documents for mid-rise and high-rise residential and mixed-use projects, under the supervision of the Director of Architecture. You will take part of the coordination with the consultants.

It is a unique opportunity for those wishing to break out of the traditional role and help develop not only amazing designs but grow a company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of construction documents for one or more mid-rise to high-rise multifamily projects under the supervision of the Project Architect.
  • Assist the Project Architect with coordination of consultants such as structural, MEPF, acoustic, specification writer, etc.
  • Prepare presentation drawings for internal design review and entitlement packages, including colored elevations, color boards, and renderings
  • Assist with construction administration duties including responding to RFIs & submittals
  • Review shop drawings and material samples for conformance with Contract documents
  • Coordinate the office material sample library and reference materials.
  • Delegate work assignments and provide direction and guidance to junior staff and document production team.
  • Research project zoning and building codes

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working in the field of Architecture in a US office.
  • Minimum 2 years multifamily residential experience. High rise experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years using Revit in a professional setting.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials, systems and construction detailing.
  • Strong knowledge of IBC, California Building Code and federal accessibility guidelines, and general understanding of zoning & planning codes.
  • Experience in construction documentation, from concept design through construction documents.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a highly resourceful and creative problem solver.
  • Self-driven with a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude, but open to feedback and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Autocad, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketchup, Rhino, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Bluebeam, Enscape. Grasshopper/Dynamo a plus.
  • Licensed Architect or on track for licensure.
