DESCRIPTION

Decypher is seeking a Junior Systems Administration Support Services Associate to support George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC) Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installs and troubleshoots all Government-approved IT equipment such as desktops, monitors, printers.
  • Demonstrates how to login to the network, save and retrieve files, how to find course materials, and how to effectively use all of the GCMC IT resources available, as required by the Government.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for any Systems Administrator task for GCMC, to include all sections of SSD such as Networking, Systems, DevOps, Information Assurance, and will escalate requests and incidents in accordance with documented SOPs.
  • Manages the GCMC Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or HCL BigFix to include the following tasks: Creates, manages, and maintains Windows images, software deployment packages, task sequences, Windows and 3rd party software updates and patches, containers and schedules.
  • Manages GCMC test groups for Windows and 3rd party software updates and patches, and ensures testing is completed based on documented SOPs.
  • Creates, manages, and maintains reports, and ensures accurate and reliable information is provided upon request.
  • Assists with managing the Mobile Device Management system for all GCMC approved mobile devices in accordance with documented SOPs.
  • Provides Systems Administrator support for the GCMC domain, and is responsible for the daily operation, troubleshooting, restoration, configuration, installation, and security of the Government-provided servers, and associated devices to maximize uptime at 99% availability or higher during core business hours.
  • Provides Tier 2 Systems Administration tasks to include the following:
  • Installs new and rebuilds existing Windows servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, and access permissions in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements and in coordination with the COR and/or Government Systems Administration Team Lead.
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Assists in the installation of Operating System patches and upgrades for Servers in coordination with Government Systems Administration Team lead. Additionally, Contractor will coordinate with Government Systems Administration Team lead to upgrade administrative tools and utilities and configure or add new services, as necessary.
  • Addresses all operational systems issues including file and share permissions, user accounts, application installations, Active Directory maintenance, Group Policy configuration and deployments, and any troubleshooting or diagnostic routines required.
  • Must be proficient in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a mid-sized virtual (VMware & vSphere) environment to include, but not limited to, performing periodic backups, upgrades, and virtual server installation.

  • IAT II Security+ Certification
  • 1-year systems administration experience
  • 3 years Help Desk experience
