Job description

Grassroots Carbon [GRC] is creating the #1 grasslands soil carbon storage company. Through our rapidly expanding land steward network, covering over 6 million acres of grasslands in the US, we have built a foundation of scientific rigor, quality, and trust. Leading companies like Marathon Oil and Shopify trust Grassroots Carbon to help them reach their carbon reduction goals.

Grassroots Carbon is on a mission to convert millions of acres of degraded grazing lands into healthy, thriving grassland ecosystems that sequester massive amounts of carbon. We support farmers and ranchers to manage their land for healthy soils, which stores more carbon, improves water quality, prevents erosion, and improves the abundance and diversity of plants, birds, insects, and wildlife.

Grassroots Carbon is a fast-growing start-up, and part of Soilworks Natural Capital, a portfolio of companies disrupting the US food system by making regenerative agriculture a more profitable method for ranchers to manage their livestock and land.

You will be responsible for:

  • Land Steward identification, selection, recruiting and contracting.

Requirements

  • Rancher experience as a producer, preferably with regenerative practice experience.
  • Experience with independent outreach to ranchers and history of sales/contract results.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal,) and comfortable developing expertise in soil science. Soil carbon project experience or ecosystem services is a plus.
  • Able to communicate key contractual terms and product offerings clearly and effectively.
  • A graduate with a bachelor's degree, or higher preferred.

Benefits
