Immediate opening for full-time Licensed Practical Nurse – Labor and Delivery, to support Nellis Air Force Base, NV.

Qualifications:

• Degree/Education: Certificate. Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: The HCW shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) (Course C), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Supports (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), STABLE and introduction to EFM. BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications must be through the American Heart Association or a Red Cross-approved training program.
• Experience: Three years of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation.
• Licensure/Registration: must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Registered Nursing license to practice nursing in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Candidate must have IV certification.

HCW Duties: The duties for the HCW are as follows but not limited to:

• Serves as a Practical Nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for inpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
• Monitors and records age-appropriate physiological measurements.
• Assists with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic testing, examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures to include care of deceased patients.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
