Job description

Jada Systems Inc is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join a team of SAs working with JPL/NASA. The systems administrator will be responsible for disk storage devices, SAN and NAS devices, and network equipment. Responsibilities also include building, configuring, and troubleshooting open source and commercial applications, backups and restorations, user support, and documentation.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six years of experience demonstrating technical, communication, and development skills. May substitute experience for education.

This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

Required Skills:

• Six or more years recent and uninterrupted experience as a Linux System Administrator
• In depth knowledge of Linux with a focus on RHEL 7 & 8, including system design, configuration, maintenance (i.e. firewall, sudoers, LDAP, SSL certs and the automounter), upgrade and administration.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization (i.e. VMWare, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Storage Technology, NetApp, both local and hosted, including design, implementation, maintenance, upgrade / transition planning and execution.
• Strong knowledge of design, implementation, and support of networked systems and technologies such NFS, DNS, and LDAP.
• Good understanding of management practices and related tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Git, and Docker
• Scripting experience such as shell and Python
• Experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both public licensed and Commercial-off-the-Shelf software tools
• Experience with a trouble ticketing system
• Understanding of AWS

Optional Skills:

• Cloud Platforms (AWS preferred)
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively both in a team-based environment and independently

• Comfort with documentation of daily tasks, architecture processes, and user instructions

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Cacti and Ganglia

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
