SUMMARY

Logistics Analyst uses analytical methods and a variety of tools to understand, predict, report and/or control logistics operations and processes. The analyst is also responsible for TMS data management (rate input and accuracy), data assembly and support analyzing results. He/She will be the liaison between the Transportation Carriers, 3rd party Managed Transportation provider, and Signode.

Essential Functions:

The Logistics Analyst will support Transportation related functions including, but not limited to; logistics financial and KPI reporting, systems routing guide/rate maintenance, carrier relations, contract management, accounting/freight payables support, customer service relations and maintaining logistics departmental SOPs.

• Develop analytical solutions for data discovery and exploration leading to improvements in Transportation lead-time, cost, and On-Time performance.

• Build advanced analytics models (including predictive, prescriptive, and statistical) to solve complex Transportation and Distribution challenges.

• Identify operational processes improvements and recommend solutions, as well as, implement changes to improve performance.

• Collaborate with internal teams to improve, resolve, and execute plans for potential bottlenecks or complex issues utilizing supportive data to predict outcome.

• Performs data management through a combination of data mining via transportation management system, data modeling, data analysis, cost / benefit analysis.

• Support the business through ad-hoc queries, maintaining data, and generating reports from a variety of databases/systems specific to departmental, organization and customer needs.

• Provide analytical support on import/export Freight Classification, Harmonization Coding, NAFTA certificates of origin and C-TPAT management compliance.

• Provide analytical support to the Sourcing team to drive the RFPs (request for proposal) across various modes of Transportation, to ensure the Commercial strategy aligns with the expected service and cost levels.

• Support the design, development, and deployment of the TMS (Transportation Management System) implementation and upgrades.

• Collaborate with the warehouses and plants, across all Bus, in addressing operational and carrier related issues.

• Generate and maintain cost reports, cost models and mode analysis tools.

• Assist in developing, documenting and maintaining requirements and standards for logistics functions, carrier management and carrier score cards.

  
  

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience

  
  

Experience / Abilities:

• 3-5 years of related experience in Logistics and Supply Chain related functions

• Fundamental understand of transportation, supply chain, logistics and accounting

• Experience with data mining and reporting

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

• Strong mathematical quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills

• Well organized, detail orientated, self-directed.

• Ability to work with a team and independently

  
  

Computer skills:

• High proficiency in MS Suite products (specifically Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and mapping software

• Knowledge of TMS Systems, specifically Microsoft AX is a plus

• Knowledge to analyze large and multi-dimensional data sets

• Familiarity with data warehousing and architecture tools, including SQL
