Job Description
- A valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license
- · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- · Must obtain MDS/RAC-CT certification within three (3) months of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred).
- Working in a medical setting or agency that utilizes team meetings, assessments and planning with individuals or groups for a minimum of three years, preferably a long-term care facility.
- Knowledge of community resources and criteria.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents/patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and long term care.
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Long Term Care Department.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle patients/residents based on whatever level they are currently functioning.
- Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Basic computer skills; excellent communication and management skills or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience, respect for principles of resident rights, confidentiality, EEO and ADA.
