Legacy at College Hill is Seeking a Maintenance Director!

The Maintenance Director was established for the purpose/s of planning, organizing and directing the maintenance, repair and alteration of building material, equipment and grounds; serving as the representative in planning and developing facilities and repair of equipment, low volt electrical issues and if any, new construction; ensuring that jobs are performed with accuracy, professional standards and meeting regulatory requirements, State and Federal.

The Director of Maintenance holds an upper-level management position. This job role is responsible for making sure that buildings and their services meet the needs of the residents that reside within and the staff that work in them. Maintenance Directors or Plant Facilities Directors are accountable for services such as cleaning, security and parking, to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work and meets State and Federal regulations for Life Safety Code compliance. We are looking for that individual who is self-driven, is motivated and positive and requires little supervision to understand the needs of the staff, the building and the residents.

General maintenance may consist of:

  • Fixing and maintaining machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
  • Paint, repair flooring
  • Plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning and heating systems
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the physical building(s)
  • Responsible for managing staff, budgets, and subcontractors
  • Negotiating contracts and overseeing construction projects
  • Emergency Preparedness Planning, teaching, training and orientation of new staff along with attending regional meetings.
  • Oversee and response to the electronic maintenance software for repairs, outside vendor requests, etc.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· Requires graduation from an appropriate technical/trade school and 2 years of experience in building maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Knowledge of building codes, rules/regulations regarding the operation of equipment and HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

· Compliance with OSHA and other safety requirements

· Ability to communicate effectively with residents their families and other facility staff

· One year minimum in supervisor experience is preferred

Schedule:

  • M-F 8am - 4pm (varies) and some weekend days. The Maintenance Director is also on-call 24/7 in case of emergency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
