Job Description

The Sustaining Engineer II will perform and supervise technical and administrative project work in support of the maintenance and operation of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Will develop, implement and administer new maintenance standards, as well as work to improve existing standards to support site operations on the approval from the Director SE
  • Will support the Operations Group with both technical and administrative tasks related to the overall proper operation, maintenance, and training of the facilities nationwide
  • Will directly supervise and critique work performance by subcontractors to ensure adherence to standards, schedules and specifications
  • Will find and correct maintenance discrepancies and work with Operations management to resolve site issues based on agreed upon priorities including management support of vendors and sub-contractors
  • Responsibilities will include ensuring that operational, maintenance and emergency Methods of Procedures (MOP’s) are developed, reviewed and audited through all stages of the maintenance process for electrical and mechanical support equipment.
  • Schedule necessary preventative maintenance and emergency repairs; and assist in the development and implementation of project plans.
  • Will support and train new hire personnel in the planning, scheduling and completion of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance
  • Will require the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects, have strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to navigate common word processing programs
  • Design review, construction support, commissioning activities.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis as needed.

  • Ability to learn, comprehend and apply company procedures and policies
  • Ability to coach, instruct and mentor company employees on equipment operation, company policies and procedures
  • Ability to positively manage expectations and performance of company employees and contracted vendors
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Engineering equivalent knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • proficient in interpreting operating manuals and component drawings as well as developing procedures for the proper operation of the equipment
  • Ability to use testing equipment such as multi-meters and circuit tracers
  • Ability to organize maintenance schedules, coordinate vendor activities, and develop problem resolutions
  • Strong familiarity with both Change Management and Incident Management processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Required experience, education and/or licenses/certifications:

  • 6 years of relevant technical experience with electrical power generating and distribution, mechanical support equipment, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and batteries, and DC Power Systems
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook

Variable Pay: Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
