Pay scale- $36-$42 hourly

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily maintenance work activities as well as other departmental activities including predictive, preventive, corrective and overhaul maintenance planning in accordance with standard industry practice. The Maintenance Technician works with the Production Supervisor and operating staff to ensure plant facilities and equipment are maintained in a safe and efficient operating condition at all times.

Duties include:

· Perform routine inspections by observing mechanical devices in operation and recommends any necessary repairs

· Repair and maintain plant equipment in accordance with vendor recommendations and established plant procedures

· Assist with tracking of parts issued and parts maintained at plant site

· Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to identify and requisition parts from warehouse, generate open and close work orders and initiate purchase requisitions for part repairs

· Assemble, dismantle and reassemble all plant mechanical equipment for inspections and repairs

· Collect vibration data and oil samples and analyzes results

· Start equipment to test their performance. Make necessary adjustments to ensure equipment is properly running.

· Set up and operate drill press, grinder, welder, and other machine tools to make and repair equipment and parts

· Initiate purchase requisitions for parts and machines

· Complete all required logs/records throughout shift

· Assists in shutdown and startup procedures during outages

· Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices during shift

· Operate all plant equipment within scope of job responsibility

· Proficient at reading mechanical drawings

· Performs other reasonable requests as needed

The Maintenance Technician will be cross-trained as a Control Room Operator (CRO).

Qualifications:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• 2+ years of related experience
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong organizational, planning skills, and attention to detail.
• Possess or ability to obtain FDNY Q-01 Refrigerating System Operating Engineer license and FDNY Certificates of Fitness is required
• Highly motivated, self-starter.
• Acquire ALL other FDNY licenses as required by management and the regulatory authorities for the safe operation of the plant
