Dixon is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! In this role you will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in an industrial plant. Develop, evaluate, and improve production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements. Bachelors degree in engineering required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the most efficient processes to complete manufacturing builds
  • Design fixtures and gages to help manufacture products
  • Specify and help procure new equipment to continually improve efficiency (automation)
  • Help develop product designs to be more manufacturable
  • Travel to suppliers as necessary to help improve their processes to provide us with more efficiencies
  • Support Quality Assurance with Fixture & Gage design and project related tasks
  • Develop and follow through on Continual Improvement projects

Competencies

  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings

  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering principles and mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent math skills

  • SolidWorks experience is a plus

  • Proficient in Word, Excel

  • Strong communication skills- answering technical questions.

  • Ability to generate ideas for process improvements and lean manufacturing.
