We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our lean and agile team. This role will work out of our Mesa, Arizona location at 8127 E. Ray Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212.

General Responsibilities: *

  • Assist in the commissioning of assembly lines by implementing capital and expense tooling, the designing and implementing fixtures and jigs, recommending appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) items for all product lines.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the vehicle assembly sequence, breaking the sequence into balanced workstations, and creating standard operating procedures for every workstation with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost in mind.
  • Support the development, implementation, and utilization of the MES system. Familiarity with an MES package is required, SAP Fiore is a plus.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of PFMEAs and Control Plans to mitigate risk and ensure the assembly of a quality product.
  • Develop manufacturing related operating procedures and new manufacturing processes; provide guidance to new team members to ensure all processes are effectively implemented.
  • Drive connectivity between plant equipment and the MES system, ensuring traceability to our product
  • Analyze capacity and controls of assembly and manufacturing – identify possible bottlenecks, quality issues, and root causes, and develop solutions.
  • Balance processes in vehicle assembly workstations, and update the MES system to match.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures on paper in and the MES system for assigned workstations with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost in mind
  • Support and collaborate with all Plant teams (Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Production, and Quality) and all company teams (Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Finance, HR, etc.) to collectively achieve plant and company goals.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree related to manufacturing or engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Materials or Automotive) is required
  • Experience developing and maintaining SAP and SAP Fiore systems strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering are required for this role
  • Must have relevant manufacturing experience with new product launch or at a start-up company
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player – dependably completes tasks and takes initiative to support others
  • Innovative and creative – loves building in the abstract and can work productively without documented procedures
  • Initiative to develop and implement processes and process improvements - continuous improvement outlook required
  • Self-accountable and safety conscious - abides by Health & Safety standards and incorporates them into processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple cross-functional teams
  • Holds a valid driver’s license
  • Legally able to work in the United States of America
