The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager. In this role, the selected candidate will head up the industrialization of an all-new pump product. Define various processes necessary to manufacture relevant components and pump final assembly and test. Design of all required tools and fixtures to assemble and test the pump and related components. Monitor and optimize production processes to improve efficiencies and quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Create tooling and assembly drawings using SolidWorks. Translates dimensional requirements from mechanical drawings, including GD&T, into robust manufacturing processes focusing on quality, reliability, and cost—designing and implementing tooling for machined metal and plastic components.
  • Coordinates/directs the fabrication, construction, and implementation of tooling and production aids.
  • Communicates with vendors and in-house personnel to receive quotations, answer questions, and resolve problems.
  • Manage projects in terms of schedule adherence, cost, and coordination of various resources and partners.
  • As applicable, utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce process variation, eliminate non-value-added activities and defects, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Creates, documents, and trains on procedures involving assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Plays an effective role on the product introduction teams representing the Operations group.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
JOB CONDITIONS
  • Light manufacturing and testing environment, general office environment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing preferred or BSMET.
  • A minimum of two to four years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity is required for close detail work and computer use.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds occasionally, move within manufacturing and office environments, and handwrite and keyboard.
  • Must have the Authorization to work in the United States and have lawful access to controlled technology as required for this position.
COMPENSATION RANGE
  • The estimated annual compensation for this position is $90,700.00 to $115,900.00
  • This position is eligible to participate in Micropump's local annual bonus plan. The target bonus for this position will be 5% to 12% of your base compensation and based on business performance.
  • This position is also eligible for our comprehensive U.S. benefit offerings, including Health benefits, 401(k) retirement savings program with company match, etc., and for two weeks of vacation, pro-rated.
