SUMMARY

Requests quotes, issues PO’s, maintains MRO inventory levels, and works closely with MRO supply base.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with minimum direction or supervision to accomplish all duties and tasks assigned or delegated by the Procurement Manager and/or Upper Management.
  • Retain the ability to learn and understand the accepted business purchasing methods and purchasing policies of Hayes Manufacturing.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with published policies and procedures.
  • Obtain and analyze bids/quotations to ensure Hayes Manufacturing receives competitive pricing for purchased goods and services.
  • Have the ability to learn and understand the Company’s business strategy with direct attention toward the differing types of procured products and requested services.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with the core suppliers of Hayes Manufacturing and the product(s) and service(s) in which they provide.
  • Understand what is needed to be purchased and investigate to effectively determine the best source(s) in which to purchase the product(s) and/or service(s).
  • Follow up on open purchase orders, obtain shipping updates, and expedite as deemed necessary.
  • Resolve discrepancies directly with applicable suppliers involving purchase orders such as, but not limited to; pricing, quantities, delivery dates, certifications, documentation, and nonconforming materials.
  • Prepare purchase orders, self-audit for accuracy and completeness prior to issuing, and obtain order confirmation from supplier(s).
  • Keep Procurement Manager informed of all activities, issues, and non-conformances and submit data and/or reports as requested by Management.
  • Support continual improvement efforts by probing approved supplier base, forward-leaning toward additionally available products/services that may potentially benefit Hayes Manufacturing.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience in a similar role within the manufacturing purchasing field preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on- one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and Manufacturing software.
