Position Summary:
Performs a variety of accounting tasks in support of the company’s operation.
Responsibilities:
- Manages accounts payable using accounting software and other programs. Codes and inputs invoices/requisitions into the accounting system within one week of receipt, monitoring for compliance with purchasing process
- Maintains ongoing records of accounts payable including aging reports and approved vendor listings. Manages the handling of accounts payable for separate facilities and vendors.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors. Managing and building rapport with fellow colleagues including senior management.
- Analyzes workflow processes. Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain vendor files in an accessible and organized manner.
- Ensure security of checks and confidentiality of data.
- Ability to accurately prepare tax filings such as 1099-MISCs and 1099-NECs. In addition, maintain filings with the appropriate taxing authorities within specific deadlines.
- Provides support to Controller and/or designee during annual audit and as assigned.
- Ensure invoices/requisitions are paid timely and in an accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED) required.
- Five years of Accounts Payable experience required. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and /or bookkeeping principles preferred. Experience gained in a healthcare business environment preferred.
- Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
