About the Role:
The Medical Transcriptionist position is not remote and is based in the Princeton office. The hours are 8 AM-4:30 PM Monday-Friday.
This position will work under the direction of the Medical Transcriptionist Director and Operations. This role is responsible for transcribing written medical reports sent by physicians and other healthcare practitioners in the field of wound care and will also complete chart reviews and audits.
What you’ll do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Returns reports in electronic form for physician's review, signature, and corrections and for inclusion in patients' medical records
- Reviews and edits transcribed reports for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology
- Completes chart audits and chart reviews
- A focus of this position is centered around technology based wound care treatments
- Transcribes charts for a variety of medical reports, such as patient histories, physical examinations, emergency room visits, operations, chart reviews, consultation, or discharge summaries
- Distinguishes between homonyms and recognize inconsistencies and mistakes in medical terms, referring to dictionaries, drug references, and other sources on anatomy, physiology, and medicine if directed by physicians and other healthcare practitioners
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required
- Medical Terminology required
- 3+ years’ experience/training must be in transcribing medical records and reports requiring knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent customer service skills
